On 1 and 2 July 2023, Simpelveld Station will again be the setting for “Weekend at War”: the liberation spectacle of Limburg!

During Weekend at War, the Liberation of the Netherlands is central. Two large army encampments of the Allies and Germans will be set up, where more than 250 re-enactors will let you experience how a day in the Second World War went. Many dozens of original war vehicles, including motorbikes, jeeps and trucks, can be admired.

Announcement by the organisation

An event like this can evoke many emotions, especially for visitors who consciously experienced the Second World War (or its consequences).

Weekend at War is meant to be an educational event that revolves around the experience. It is absolutely not our intention to shock, stigmatise or hurt people or population groups. Inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated or accepted during this weekend.
