Discover with this arrangement the special location of ‘De Kluis’ on the Sjaasberg in Valkenburg. In this secluded house, the history of which goes back to 1688, a few hermits lived for many years.
A steam train ride from Simpelveld to Schin op Geul is followed by a tough but delightful walk through the Geul valley, over the Sjaasberg and Däölkesberg to the Hermitage. Not only the hermitage and the chapel are impressive, but also the wonderful view over the Geul valley makes this arrangement more than worthwhile.
On the way back, it is possible to visit Brasserie ‘De Kleine Koning’ in Schin op Geul, where you can enjoy coffee/tea and Limburgse vlaai.
