Spring Evening Express – May 15, 2026

A journey along the Miljoenenlijn is always beautiful, but a ride on the special Spring Evening Express truly offers stunning views! And you can be part of it! On Friday evening, May 15, the Spring Evening Express travels through the rolling hills of South Limburg. This evening ride promises what may be one of the most spectacular sunsets you have ever seen.

You can choose a regular train ticket, a seat in one of the first-class carriages with plush seating, or a truly unique Train Dinner in our luxurious Pullman lounge carriage and classic restaurant carriage “4268-42”. More information about the Train Dinner can be found via the page below.

Steam locomotive E2 1040 from 1910 departs at 6:00 PM from Simpelveld towards Kerkrade. After a short stop there, the train returns without intermediate stops to Schin op Geul. This is the other end of the highest railway line in the Netherlands.

Around 9:15 PM, after sunset, you will arrive back in Simpelveld.

We kindly ask you to be at Simpelveld Station at least 30 minutes before departure, so you have enough time to find a seat in our first-class carriages with plush seating.
