This package includes the train journey from Simpelveld to Kerkrade and back, as well as an admission ticket to the Discovery Museum.

Programme 2026
From Simpelveld Station, you travel by railbus to Kerkrade at 11:15 a.m. You will arrive at the Miljoenenlijn station in Kerkrade at 11:35 a.m. From here, it is a 5-minute walk to the Discovery Museum (Museumplein 2).
After visiting the Discovery Museum, you take the railbus back to Simpelveld at 2:45 p.m.
Free option:
In Simpelveld, you can then explore the museum grounds as well as the Depot & Workshop! Or you can continue your journey by steam train* or railbus to Schin op Geul and back.
*only possible on July 15, 22 and 29, and August 5, 12 and 19

3 & 4 years: €8.50
5 to 11 years: €18.50
12 to 17 years: €25.00
18 years and older: €27.50
Tip: The Discovery Museum can be visited free of charge by holders of the Dutch Museum Card or the VriendenLoterij VIP Card. For them, it is therefore more economical to purchase a separate day ticket for the Miljoenenlijn and then visit the museum free of charge.
Please note: Dogs are not allowed in the Discovery Museum. Unfortunately, this package is not suitable for wheelchair users.
This package starts at Simpelveld Station. Please make sure to be present at least fifteen minutes before the train departs (i.e. no later than 11:00 a.m.).
